Head and Shoulders, hands and throat, hands and throat...

I'm all about using my essential oils. If you haven't noticed...you may live under a rock with the cavemen from the Geico commercials. I get a lot of questions on where to start with essential oils. It's hard to pick a starting point that is the same for everyone. I would definitely suggest the Intro Trio of Lavender, Peppermint and Lemon to everyone because there's at least 101 ways to use them. It's a great way to get used to using them for a variety of needs. But, if you're wanting to protect yourself from the cold and flu season that is here...I would suggest using the On Guard products. Yet if you have specific issues you would like to address (name it and there's probably an oil for it!) I would recommend something else. I do a lot of research online and in my Modern Essential book to find solutions that others have had success using.

Along the way, I've found some pretty awesome recipes and ideas for various needs. Here's two that I will now be selling:

1.) On Guard Hand Sanitizer
On Guard has many uses, but I love it for an immune system booster. Here's a great handout that has lots of additional information on the On Guard blend. Pairing this with alcohol free Witch Hazel and Aloe Vera makes this the perfect immune boosting, germ fighting, safe for all ages, moisturizing hand sanitizer. Just in time for cold and flu season!

Did you know that:
"Most hand sanitizers contain between 60 to 90 percent alcohol, which is enough to cause alcohol poisoning if ingested. According to CNN Health, a 2 ounce bottle of hand sanitizer may contain as much alcohol as four shots of vodka."*

Uhm, my nieces love hand sanitizer...especially the ones with characters on them, but no way do I want them to be using it after reading the report on Livestrong.com.

I've researched several recipes and have come up with one of my own. This is a 5mL bottle with spray top. Available to purchase for $5.
Reuse the glass bottle it comes in and get a $1 off of your refill of the same item.

2.) Singer's Throat Spray
I don't sing...for all of your sake's, but I live in Music City. I'm surrounded by singers everywhere I go. On top of being full of Country music, Nashville, TN is also Christian music's home. Indie, rock, country, Christian, worship leader, you name it, it's here. It takes a lot to make it big and performing is essential. Some people can perform (don't go all crazy on me with using the word perform if you're a worship leader...it's just the most general word that suits) several times a day over a few day period. That is not easy on your throat or vocal chords. I found a recipe when a local worship leader was asking for some oil for their tea because they were trying to protect their throat after leading several times that week. The recipe was from a vocal coach (can not find their name to give them credit...sorry!) and since then I've altered it a little bit adding a couple drops of other oils that are great for the throat.

This is a 5mL bottle with spray top. It's available to purchase for $10.
Reuse the glass bottle it comes in and get a $1 off your refill of the same item.

If you're a singer here's what I recommend you consistently do to keep your throat ready to belt out those melodies:
1.) Drink lots of water all the time (add Lemon Oil for added value!)
2.) Singer's Throat Spray
3.) On Guard Throat Lozenges (check out the additional benefits of On Guard)
4.) Using Eucalyptus Oil mixed with a carrier oil (coconut, sweet almond, grapeseed) topically on throat and chest
5.) One hour before singing, sip on a small glass of warm water with a drop of lemon oil, peppermint oil and the DigestZen blend.
